Buckeye Dip – A Fabulous Uptake on a Favorite!

Growing up in Ohio meant making Buckeyes every Fall. Even though I’m a Transplanted Buckeye now I love finding ways to keep the Buckeye tradition alive in my home. I just came across several Buckeye Dip recipes on Pinterest that inspired us to make our own version of Buckeye Dip!

Have you ever tried a Buckeye Dip or Buckeye candy before? Imagine chocolate, creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar and cream cheese mixed together……it is so yummy and delish! You really have to try it! Believe me when I say that even if you aren’t a big dip fan, this one will change your mind. BUT be forewarned, you may be tempted to eat it by the spoonful….and before you know it, it will be gone.


This dip would be perfect for tailgating, watching Football at home or really just for any reason you are having buckeyes!!


Buckeye Dip


3 tbsp. brown sugar
2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1 tsp vanilla




Bowl for the dip

Pretzels or any other type of chips or crackers you prefer



This is such a must for any football, tailgate party!! This dip tastes just like Buckeyes! Oooey, gooey, sweet and creamy and yummy!

Buckeye Dip

Add the cream cheese to the mixing bowl and let it mix until the cream cheese becomes soft and creamy. Then add the softened butter to the cream cheese.

Slowly add the flour, brown sugar, powdered sugar and vanilla to the mixture and mix on lower until everything is incorporated. Then slowly turn up mixer and mix at full speed for about five minutes until everything is mixed together. Then add the peanut butter in and mix again for another few minutes until everything is completely mixed together. Make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl (but make sure you turn the mixer OFF before you put the spatula in).

Stir the chocolate chips in. Then pour into a serving dish, add a side of pretzels or another favorite snack item and Enjoy!
