The Five Best Restaurants in Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World has some of the best dining you can have on a vacation. It’s full of eclectic cuisine options and food put out by celebrated chefs. These restaurants are not quick service, or character dining. They are simply great restaurants for memorable experiences while vacationing in Walt Disney World.
Here are the Five Best Restaurants in Walt Disney World:
Boma differs from the others on this list, because it is a buffet. It doesn’t mix in with the others because the experience is so different, but I think it belongs here. I chose Boma instead of more critically acclaimed restaurants Jiko and Sanaa, because Boma is a lot more accessible. It’s great for families. Everyone can sample and explore really great food from those other restaurants that you might not know if you’ll like. Boma is easily one of the best buffets in Disney World which puts it high in the running for best restaurant.
Art Smith’s Homecomin’
A restaurant doesn’t have to be fancy to be great. Chef Art Smith brings his incredible culinary talent for elevated southern home cooking to provide a complete thematic dining experience. Great food and great atmosphere combine to tell a story. It’s the perfect Disney world Restaurant. Smith’s level of authenticity and passion supports an overarching philosophy. The theme of local sourcing creates one of the best eating experiences to have on vacation in Florida.
This is where the more upscale dining starts to really take the lead for best restaurant. Monsieur Paul is a signature dining location, but it could almost be described as a hidden gem. The entrance is tucked away. The upstairs restaurant overlooks France Pavilion in Epcot from above. The quality and presentation of the food are not what you expect from a theme park dining location, yet although it is refined, elevated dining as the atmosphere suggests, it is totally approachable, and you don’t have to worry about a dress code.
For me this is one of the most memorable and repeatable restaurants. The Brown Derby is theme park elegance at its finest. It beautifully captures the famous original Hollywood restaurant in an authentic way and manages to support a family theme park atmosphere. While it is on the pricey side it is not so stuffy that the kids won’t enjoy it. It’s a great way to escape the heat for a while and indulge in really deliciously prepared food that is hard to come by even outside of a theme park environment.
One Restaurant that just seems to have it all is the California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. It is no secret that this is one of the best loved and highest ranked restaurants in Disney World, and with good reason. The food is near perfect. The atmosphere in the restaurant strikes a difficult balance of refined, but approachable, you can enjoy yourself there and admire the coveted view of Magic Kingdom. It is pricy, but also a great value compared to how much you can pay for much lower quality other places in Disney World. If you are planning a romantic night, or want to celebrate a special moment, this is one of the best places to do that.
