When I think of the words luxury and playhouse, I normally don’t think of them together. Let’s be honest, kids really don’t care how luxurious something is right? They usually just want to play and have fun. When I think of a kids’ playhouse, I think of the types of playhouses like Step 2, Little Tikes, or the little area under the slide on the swing set.
However, for some families, the words “luxury playhouse” take on a whole new meaning! Check out these very unique luxury playhouses made just for kids:
Tot Town Contained Play Jungle Playhouse
by SportsPlay – $15,221.77
DutchCrafters Grand Portico Mansion Playhouse
by DutchCrafters – $11,535.00
*You really need to check out the inside of this playhouse! It is pretty cool!
by Furniture Barn USA – $4,199.99
I know, I know. You have to admit that though that these playhouses are pretty spectacular, right?
If a $10k or more luxury playhouse isn’t in your budget (it’s not in mine), you can still create a super fun playhouse for your little ones at a little more budget friendly price!
Here are some pretty neat ideas to create your own Luxury Playhouse for the Kids in Your Life (while on a shoestring budget):
Under the Stairway Storage Area
If you have an under the stairway storage area, you could always convert it to something pretty magical like this.
Have you seen the indoor teepees at the stores? There are so many great options and they would make a fabulous playhouse for your little ones! And the best part is that you can have them inside so you don’t have to worry about bugs and the heat and they can play in them year round! (You can click on the image to learn more about them)
Let the Kids decorate the inside:
Once you have the playhouse, then it’s time to decorate! Get out the paper, markers and paint brushes and let them make fun art for the inside. For the teepees, you can purchase some velcro tabs so you can attach and remove the art easily!
Oh and don’t forget the lighting!
Choosing the Linens:
Of course all playhouses needed linens! Now’s the time to check out the hall closets, bedroom closets and look for pillows and comforters that are no longer in use. The kids can mix or match those or you can pick up a few of these fun pieces so they properly coordinate with the theme you are looking for.
I think I really need the pink blanket for myself in my office! That looks so incredibly cozy and absolutely wonderful!
Even if you don’t have a deep pocket book for an all out dream luxury playhouse for your little ones, you can still create a pretty cool and fun playhouse that your kids will absolutely love!
Did you have a playhouse as a kid?
