We were recently hosted by Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. All opinions are our own.
A few weeks ago, our family ventured to Southern Idniana. Southern Indiana is one of those places where if you haven’t visited yet, you simply must! One of the hidden gems they are known for is Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari!
Holiday World is truly one of those places that when you visit, the extras are included with your paid admission ticket!
- FREE Wi-Fi
- FREE Sunscreen
- UNLIMITED Soft Drinks
- FREE Parking
And your ticket covers BOTH Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari!
This year, Holiday World celebrated their 70th anniversary! That’s right, Holiday World, which was originally named Santa Land, opened in 1946! As the park evolved, they went from Santa Land to Holiday World. The park is divided into the following sections:
- 4th of July
According to Trip Advisor, Splashin’ Safari is the 3rd Best Water Park in the States! And they also have the Voyage, which is #1 Wooden Coaster in the nation according to TIME magazine! At Holiday World, you will find roller coasters, water coasters including the Mammoth, (which is the world’s longest water coaster), family rides,
family slides, a high dive show (how many performers just dived off of the platform at once?)
and live shows!
Do you know who Mother Goose is? If so then you will definitely have to take a ride on Holidog Express! Recognize any of these characters?
Some tips to help prepare for your visit:
- Rent a locker in Splashin’ Safari! We rented one as soon as we got into the park. That way we left all of our swim stuff in the locker.
- Plan to stay visit over TWO days! One day in Holiday World and the other in Splashin’ Safari
- Get HoliCash! It will make it much easier to pay!
- Get your child’s height pre-measured! The staff will then give your child a wristband so you will know what rides they can/can’t ride AND they will put your cell phone # on the band in the event your child would get separated from you.
- Plan to camp next door at Lake Rudolph so you can ride the trolley back to the campground so you can relax after a long day at the park then head back to Holiday World the next day for round two!
One thing that will always stick in our mind is how clean the park was! The staff did an excellent job in keeping the park clean! It was amazing that the park looked the same as when we left as it did when we arrived! They make sure the trash is picked up and the park is very appealing.
Make sure you plan to ride the Mammoth in Splashin’ Safari! It was a really wild water ride! Our youngest unfortunately got scared on it. Even though she’s 5, I think the screaming from our raft or the darkness of the last tunnel did her in. So I’d suggest considering the ages of your littles before getting inline.
There is still a lot of Summer left! With these crazy hot/humid days in the Midwest, make plans to head to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari! You won’t be disappointed!
Overall, our impression of Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is that they put families first! They want you to have a great impression and to come back! Our family will definitely go back!
