We received free product, including the party kit, to host a Peter and the Wolf In Hollywood MommyParty through MomSelect and Giants Are Small. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Last weekend we held a Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood MommyParty!
This was a great party for both the parents and the kids! All of the parents were remembering listening to the classic Peter and the Wolf story!
If you haven’t already heard about the updated version of Peter and the Wolf, here is some information about it:
Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood is a revival of the classic Peter and the Wolf tale brought to you by acclaimed production company, Giants Are Small. This version brings Peter to Hollywood to meet his hippie grandfather while bringing classical music elements to life. Peter, along with all of the characters in the movie book, are narrated and brought to life by Rock n’ Roll legend, Alice Cooper. Connect with Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood on Facebook and Twitter.
You can also download the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood App in iTunes! The app is available for both iPhone and iPad. The iPhone version will contain the moviebook as well as a few features that will give you behind-the-scenes information. The Deluxe version for iPad features fun games you and your family can play, along with exclusive behind-the-scenes videos and extras.
First let’s talk about the lovely goodies that we were sent to host our Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood MommyParty! This party goody box was packed full of stuff that was perfect for our party! We had goodies from Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood, Aleene’s from ILoveToCreate and MyPrintly from HP!
Inside the box, we had almost all of the items we need to host a fabulous party. We bought a few additional things that we thought would finish the party off nicely.
Here is our party table all ready to go!
For our party, we decided to make a “Fruit Cocktail Punch”. The kids loved this AND so did the adults!
The Fruit Cocktail Punch recipe came in our party kit and it’s so simple and delicious!
All you need is:
- 1/2 gallon of Pineapple juice
- 1 2 liter of Ginger Ale
- 2 quarts of lemonade
- Clear plastic cups
- Decorative umbrella
Mix together all of the ingredients in a large pitcher or bowl, then add ice. Pour the punch into cups and then add the decorative little umbrellas!
Next, we made the Pretzel Flutes. I should say my oldest made these. They were simple easy and she had fun making them.
To make the Pretzel Flutes, you will need:
- 1 cup of chocolate candy melts
- 12 pretzel rods
- 36-48 round candies (we decided to not use these)
Line a baking sheet with wax paper then melt the candy melts. Dip the rods about 3 – 4 inches into the melted candy melts. Place on lined baking sheet. Press 3 -4 round candies into the chocolate and add sprinkles. Refrigerate the flutes for 20-30 minutes.
Next, we made Jumping Jell-O Pools. Everyone, including the adults loved these!
To make these for yourself, all you need is:
Clear plastic cups
Water (1 cup boiling, 1 cup cold)
Stir Jell-O and the boiling water together until the Jell-O powder is completely dissolved. Then stir in the cold water. Spoon into the clear cups and set the cups in the fridge for about 4 hours. Print off a sheet of duck printables (from MyPrintly.com), cut out the ducks and using Aleene’s adhesive dots, stick each duck cut-out to a thin wooden food pick or toothpick. Then stick the toothpick into each solid Jell-O cup.
We then popped some popcorn and made little treat cups and called them “Wolf Bites” and added the popcorn into those.
You can find the printables for Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood at MyPrintly.com.
Each of our guests received a Chinese take-out carton full of goodies home! They each received a Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood poster, pin and coloring pages.
Thank you to MomSelect and Giants Are Small for a terrific party kit!
