To Joey, With Love Documentary

Last night we were guests of Fathom Events at the showing of the To Joey, With Love documentary.

To Joey With Love Documentary

We all know that life has some very unique twists and turns…..there are times of happiness, sadness and sometimes there are life events that just leave us saying, “what in the world”. Sometimes we need to be reminded of life’s greatest joys; which sometimes are actually the most simplest things and are literally right in front of our face.

The documentary that Rory Feek just put together to honor his wife, Joey, and their life together was sweet, wonderful and showed them during the most vulnerable points in their life.

In this film, you will be introduced to the country music duo Joey+Rory. Rory put this documentary together to honor his late wife, Joey, who passed away earlier this year to cancer. This tender love story will take you from the beginning to when they first met, to the birth of their daughter, Indiana, who was born with Down Syndrome and then through Joey’s heartbreaking cancer diagnosis.

Rory mentions throughout the film that they both knew that God would give them a great story and that he truly did. No, this wasn’t a film with a happy ending, but it shows a great love story full of ups and downs. It shows a couple who had great Faith, preferred a simple life and who loved each other and their beautiful daughter Indiana deeply.

Below is a trailer of the documentary.

To Joey, With Love will be showing for an additional night on October 6, 2016 nationwide. The film is presented by Fathom Events, Provident Films and Hickory Films.

This would really be a great date night movie! I was a fan of Joey+Rory before she was diagnosed so for me I knew I really wanted to see this documentary. My husband who was only basically familiar with their story went with me to the showing. My husband felt that Rory did a terrific job in honoring Joey with this film. I started crying at the beginning and didn’t stop until we left. I even noticed my husband getting emotional.

One thing that struck me was how the film affected those in the audience! We had heard laughs and muffled cries throughout the film. At the end of the film, when you normally you see people getting up during the credits and walking away. No one left during the credits! Everyone stayed in their seats. Everyone was trying to compose themselves as they got up. Many didn’t look up as they left the theatre.

To Joey, With Love is that gentle reminder that we all need. Life is short. No one is promised tomorrow and the simple joys in life are the things that are right in front of us. Our family, our children, our friends. Sometimes we all need that reminder……

Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the To Joey, With Love website or at the ticket office at participating theatres.
