There are so many things to do in Chicago. If you are planning a trip to the Windy City, you must have a plan in place! so that you have a fantastic trip!
Chicago, Illinois is a very large city, with a number of world class attractions, such as Navy Pier, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and the Magnificent Mile.
We love visiting Chicago when we can. There is so much to see, food to try, and of course, so much fabulous shopping to do!
WHERE TO STAY IN CHICAGO
Our first trip to Chicago was for our honeymoon a couple of decades ago. When we headed out, we used that fabulous thing we consider “vintage” now called a map and plotted our way there. Since this was also before the internet, we had no idea what hotel we would stay at either! We figured that once we got there, we would find a hotel to stay at.
Once we arrived in the city, we were overwhelmed. The first hotel we stopped at was full, however, they suggested another one town the street from them. When we pulled up in front of a gorgeous hotel, we looked at each other and said, “We can’t afford this”. But we walked in anyway and to peak around and to see what staying at a place like this would cost.
After finding out that we could afford our room for two nights, we went to our room and it was stunning. The whole hotel was absolutely beautiful! Little did I know then that we were literally steps away from Magnificent Mile! Had I only known we would have went shopping!! Well, back then at least window shopping! I couldn’t believe we were THAT close!
One hotel I highly recommend is The Warwick Allerton Hotel. This is the hotel I mentioned above. The hotel has went under a large renovation and if you are looking for a way to immerse yourself into the architecture in Chicago, then this will definitely be your hotel to stay at!
Another hotel that is offering a fun Family Road Trip Package is the Loews Hotel in Chicago. They are just one block north of the Chicago River and two blocks east of North Michigan Avenue. Guests will receive a second guest room at 50% off, complimentary breakfast for up to two children, a $30 food and beverage credit and complimentary parking!
