We had the opportunity to stay last night at the Homewood Suites in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
This was the first night we have stayed at a hotel since we became parents. Being in a hotel, without any children or dogs is a bit of an adjustment! But it was very nice!
If you aren’t familiar with Homewood Suites, you need to check out their website here.
First of all, I have to say that we have stayed at many hotels over the years and this is one of the most cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. We even checked the top of the pictures that were in our room and there was not a spec of dust in them, or in the decorations in the room, or on the top of the light fixtures! It was dust free!
When we walked into the hotel, we were promptly greeted by the Front Desk staff. Check in was a breeze and went quickly. When you first walk in, you are also greeted by a welcoming fireplace and lovely and modern sitting area.
They have a small store available for necessities that you may need for your trip near the front desk. They also have a guest laundry on the first floor as well as an ice machine.
We were very surprised when we opened the door and saw how large the room was! We stayed in a 1 King Bed Studio Suite. We also had a lovely fruit basket waiting for us on the table.
Here are some pictures of our room:
The Homewood Suites have really taken the time and research to make it truly a home away from home. Items included in our suite were as follows:
In the Kitchen:
Bag of microwave popcorn
Full size refrigerator
In the Bathroom:
In the Room:
Sofa (that folded out to a bed)
Ceiling fan above the bed
And to keep the climate just right in your room, there was a programmable thermostat on the wall.
The hotel offers a complimentary dinner and drinks Monday – Thursday from 5 – 7 pm. The menu for the dinners are on your refrigerator in your room.
The hotel also offers you a free grocery shopping option for you. There is a form in your room that you can fill out and drop off at the front desk.
There is also a workout room, free WiFi, and a complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning from 7 – 10.
The hotel is also pet-friendly so check their website for their Pet Policy.
There is also an indoor pool located right next door at the Hilton Garden Inn.
You can get to the hotel easily off of I-69 and they are conveniently located to the following restaurants and stores:
Kroger Marketplace (Grocery store)
BP/Lassus Handy Dandy Gas station
Don Halls Tavern of Coventry
Sara’s Family Restaurant
Buffalo Wild Wings
I was very impressed with the communication before we even arrived. I received the normal confirmation email then a few d
ays before our arrival, we received an additional email that included directions on how to get to the hotel.
The hotel overall, including our room, was very clean and there were no musty smells.
There is also a breakfast buffet in the morning. There is the normal fare of waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, milk and juice. The feature on Sunday morning was an Enchilada Casserole, refried beans, sausage, and corn muffins. In the breakfast area, there is another fireplace as well as multiple tvs and tables and chairs and a nice bar seating area. It’s a great area to gather!
Checkout was prompt. The staff was very courteous and very helpful.
I would definitely stay there again or at any Homewood Suites. We were very impressed with the hotel. Definitely stay at the Homewood Suites the next time you are in Fort Wayne! You won’t be disappointed! This hotel would be great for families as well as for couples who are looking for a night away. I definitely can see why this is one of the top rated hotels in Fort Wayne!
