Ingredients

  • Oven Ready Turkey Breast
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • ½ cup Duck Fat
  • 2 Tbsp. Unsalted Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Thyme
  • 5 garlic cloves minced and peeled

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • Season the breast all over with the salt and pepper.
  • Heat your cast iron Dutch oven on high heat. Then add in the duck fat. Once the fat has melted down, carefully add in your turkey breast.
  • Sear until nicely browned on both sides; which is approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Add the butter and thyme to the top of the turkey breast.
  • Cover the pan with foil and place the turkey into the oven.
  • Every 30 minutes, pull the pan out of the oven and baste the turkey with the juices in the pan. Continue cooking the turkey until the internal temperature is 165 degrees.
  • Once the turkey is done, let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Then serve!
