Ingredients

  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate/chocolate bar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 tbsp. nonfat dry milk powder
  • 3 ¾ teaspoons cornstarch
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Chop the chocolate in small pieces.
  • Add all of the ingredients into a food blender or food processor until it gets to a fine powder.
  • When you are ready to make your Hot Cocoa. In a small saucepan, add in 1 cup of milk (any type whole, 2% or 1%) turn the stove top to medium heat and heat it until you start to see bubbles around the edges and the milk begins to steam. Then add in ¼ cup of the mix, whisking the hot chocolate powder into the milk. The key though will be to whisk consistently until there are no more lumps and until the mixture has thoroughly dissolved into the milk. This process will take approximately 4 to 5 minutes.

Notes

If you want a bit more of a stronger chocolate taste, add in a little bit more of the Hot Chocolate Mix. If you want it more subdued, add in a little less.
