Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cake pan, pie pan, or large cookie cake pan with cooking spray or parchment paper.
Prepare the cookie mix according to the directions on back of the package.
Add in some sprinkles if you also want them inside the cookie then spread the cookie mix into the pan with your fingers and press the dough to the edges along the bottom of the pan.
Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until the edges are firm.
Remove from the oven and let the cookie cake completely cool in the pan then transfer to the serving plate/platter.
Spread the container of vanilla frosting all over the top of the cookie. Sprinkle the holiday sprinkles across the frosting and then add the M & M's. Then using the filled pastry bag of frosting, pipe stars around the outside of the circle of the cookie.
