Expert Tips, Ingredient List and Suggestions for Recipe Success
You will find a complete breakdown of the ingredients needed in the recipe card below. This is just a list of a few key ingredient suggestions and ingredients that you must use.
- Unsalted butter - make sure to use unsalted since you are already using salt in this recipe.
- Vanilla extract - if you can find it, always use pure vanilla extract.
Step by Step Directions
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Spray the donut pans with your favorite nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, add in the dry ingredients; flour, salt, cornstarch, sugar, and baking powder. Whisk them together until they are well combined.
Step 4: In a small mixing bowl, add in the wet ingredients; milk, egg, butter, and vanilla. Whisk those ingredients together until they are well combined. And then add in the berries.
Step 5: Add the wet ingredients into the dry until they are just combined by gently folding the wet into the dry. Do NOT OVERMIX the batter. Mix until everything is just combined.
Step 6: Fill each of the donut mold cavities about ½ full.
Step 7: Bake for about 10 - 12 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for five minutes and then remove the donuts and place them on a cooling rack.
Step 8: While the donuts are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, add in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice and whisk the ingredients together. If the glaze is too thick, add more lemon juice until it's the consistency you are looking for. Then drizzle the glaze over the donuts.
Step 9: Allow the glaze to cool, then enjoy!
Step 10: Once the donuts have cool completely and the glaze has set, you can store them for up to 5 days in an airtight container in the fridge.
