Water bombs are a great way to get the kids outside to play in the Summer.  Living in the Midwest, we get hit by not only warm temps but high humidity.  So, I am always looking for cool activities for the kids to do outside.

Sponges are something that doesn’t normally come to mind when you are thinking about craft ideas. However, they are really an inexpensive craft supply.

How to Make Sponge Water Bombs:

What’s Needed:

6 – 8 sponges, multi-color
Cotton string
Scissors
Plastic tub

Directions for Sponge Soaker Balls:

Cut each sponge lengthwise into 4 pieces

Take four sponge pieces and lay them side by side and stack four more directly on top of them.

Take a piece of string and tie around all the sponge pieces.

Make sure to pull the string very tight and knot it.  Cut off excess string.

Dip in buckets of water and have a great time!

  • Cut each sponge lengthwise into 4 pieces
