White Chocolate Dipped Oreo Cookies

White Chocolate Dipped Cookies are really the best of several worlds!  The recipe includes peppermint, Oreos, and chocolate. I mean what could be better then that?

There is just something about peppermint and winter that go hand in hand! It’s like they were meant to be together during the holidays! That’s why I am always looking for recipes that I can combine my love for all things holiday!  That is why I really like this recipe for White Chocolate Dipped Oreo Cookies!

One of our favorite holiday baking traditions is our baking day.  That is the day that we set aside to do nothing but bake.  Granted with my oldest daughter’s schedule, it is harder to plan then it used it be, but we manage to get it done every year.  The kids love helping in the kitchen, my big kid (aka Husband) like to be the taste taster, and me, well it’s about creating memories.

Before we get started on the recipe, here are a few answers to questions I have been asked about this White Chocolate Dipped Oreo Cookies recipe before:

DO I HAVE TO USE WHITE CHOCOLATE?

No, you can use regular, it’s totally up to you.

IN LIEU OF PEPPERMINT EXTRACT, CAN I USE THE PEPPERMINT BARK OREOS INSTEAD?

Absolutely!  Those would be dreamy!

COULD I JUST SUBSTITUTE A LOT OF THE STEPS AND JUST BUY THE OREO PURE WHITE FUDGE COVERED COOKIES?

Sure!  You can do that too!  Whatever works for you! What matters is the memories that you are creating with your family!

Once the white chocolate is melted, add in the peppermint extract and mix

Using a fork, dip in the oreo and flip the cookie over so that it is completely coated

Using the fork, lift the cookie up and lightly tap on the side of the pot so that the excess chocolate can drip off

Place the cookie onto the cookie sheet to harden

repeat steps with remaining cookies

Once the cookies are completely harden, using the green icing, pipe the lines for your tree

Using the brown icing, pipe a line on the bottom for the tree stump

Using the red icing, pipe dots scattered on the tree

Place a yellow star sprinkle on the tip of the tree

Wait 30 minutes to allow the icing to dry before enjoying!
