WHAT MAKES DALGONA COFFEE SO FLUFFY?
Actually the whipping of the ingredients. There's something about the mixture of hot water, instant coffee, and sugar that makes the magic happen.
WHY IS IT CALLED DALGONA COFFEE?
It was given the nickname of Dalgona thanks to actor Jung II-Woo who after traveling to Macau, tried the drink and said it resembled Dalgona, which is a Korean Sponge Candy.
WHAT DALGONA COFFEE INGREDIENTS ARE NEEDED?
- Instant coffee - this ingredient is the basis for all whipped coffee drinks.
- Sugar - to help make the drink a bit sweeter.
- Hot water - this is needed for the instant coffee.
- Southern Butter Pecan coffee creamer - to add an extra boost of flavor.

Southern Butter Pecan Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon of instant coffee
- International Delight Southern Butter Pecan Cream
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoon hot water
- Milk of choice we used 1%
- Ice cubes
- Pecans
Instructions
- Either using a hand whisk, a frother, a hand mixer, or a stand mixer, whisk together the hot water, instant coffee, and sugar until stiff peaks are formed.
- Set out two bistro coffee glasses, large drink glasses, or whatever glass you think will work for the occasion and fill the glass with ice cubes and pour the desired amount of the coffee creamer into the glass. I would suggest at least a teaspoon, however, if you prefer to add coffee to your creamer, you can add up to an ounce.
- Then full your glass with the milk that you are using. Whole, 1%, or 2% works great. I haven't had much luck using skim milk.
- Now is the best part! Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top of the milk.
- Then using a coffee grinder, which works great to crush up food too, crush up some pecans then sprinkle them on top of the coffee.
- And there you go! Southern Butter Pecan Dalgona Coffee!
